Another stop I made when I was in NYC last week was at David Duncan’s antiques shop. It was quite by accident. I happened to glimpse it down a side street, and as I had bought a book from David a couple months back on One King’s Lane (see, I don’t just make fun of them!), I thought I’d stop in and see what was on offer, and maybe meet David.
It was like stepping into a chandelier fantasy land! Oh, the lighting! Chandeliers… Table lamps… Sconces… Beautiful blue and white… Venetian mirrors… And most of all, this gorgeous dresser… David Duncan’s having another sale of books on One King’s Lane in November. I had a chance to look at some of the titles, and you can bet I’ll be adding to my book collection!
Beautiful shop Meg.....a great place to be side-tracked....dangerous though....too many temptations for me! xv
ReplyDeleteHi Meg,
ReplyDeleteSo did you meet him? Did you like the shop or am I reading into the lack of dialogue too much? Looks expensive!

Looks like heaven to me.
ReplyDeleteDid you get a glimpse of David in the shop? Hope you drove and had lots of room to take home some treasures!

Another one of my favorite shops!
ReplyDeleteOh dear! Surely you remembered that I adore blue and white porcelain and you DID pick up those two beautiful jars for me, RIGHT? Please don't break my heart and say that you left them behind! What a glorious store! I am officially green with envy!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this shop--it seems to bridge all design elements. But I will definitely take the pair of French Blue lamps--the color is to die for. Thanks. Mary
