I was talking to my mother yesterday and she mentioned that she really liked a wallpaper she’d seen on my blog a few months back. She has a shower curtain that’s black and white sketches of London, and thought that this La Vie Ordinaire paper would be a fun companion to it. Naturally, it’s not available in the US, just in the UK. We had to first find the manufacturer of the paper, a company called Holden Decor. As I was searching their website, I found that in addition to La Vie Ordinaire, they had a lot of great looking papers. Once I figure out the dimensions of a roll, I will have my former housemate pick up a roll and post it to me. However, you can also order here.
Here’s one that is similar to La Vie Ordinaire, but it’s called City. I don’t like it nearly as much, because I hate the I {heart} NY logo splashed on there. I’d be really tempted to have at this with a pack of Sharpie markers!
There are two wonderful Chinoiserie papers in the collection, Pagoda, which comes in several colourways including this pale cream, and Bonsai, which features the tiny trimmed trees on it. The name of this paper cracked me up. It’s called “I Love the 80s” and if you look closely, you can see some roller skates and maybe Jane Fonda doing some jazzercise! Riffing on the same theme, this is called Truly Great and is an homage to HRH QEII. Gotta love the Union Jack pennants! If you love butterflies, then Trifari is for you! Last but not least, is Pucci, a black and white line drawing. I can think of a lot of rooms where this would look fabulous! Which do you like the best?

I suppose if I HAD to choose one it would be Pagoda. I'm afraid I'm not a wallpaper person and none of these really rattled my chain. Pagoda was a little more restrained than the rest.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I swooned over Pagoda! So lush and quietly understated in that colorway. I think I will visit the website and see the other colorways.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. Andy is such a dear to lend a hand.
Pucci. I'm so predictable.
ReplyDeleteI do love the original one you posted, but Truly Great calls to me as well...
ReplyDeleteafter a lot of years in the design industry-at one time i worked for stockwell, which made the original martinique banana leaves for the beverly hills hotel-i no longer want pattern and repeats all over the place, undulating and jumping around a room. i see the loveliness of these papers, and the pagoda toile is very pleasant in neutrals, but my personal taste has sailed into calmer waters.
ReplyDeletei love that wallpaper with the london landmarks on it. But how did the Eiffel Tower get on there?
ReplyDeleteI'm torn between the cream colored Pagoda and the black & white Pucci.
ReplyDeleteLove these papers. The color of "Bonsai" is fantastic--they are all wonderful. Thanks for an eye-popping morning.
ReplyDeletePucci for me, although London is also pretty fun.
ReplyDeletei usually don't like such bold wallpaper...but i really really like the gray ones. both of them.
ReplyDeleteI like Pucci the best but could not have any of them on my walls. Too too much business for me.
ReplyDeleteLa Vie Ordinaire, hands down! Then I like the Pagoda - and seriously, I would consider Truly Great in a lav! :-)
ReplyDeleteDiggin' the Pucci and the Bonsai and the Butterflies!
ReplyDeletegreat round up. I like the Pucci and the pagoda. The pucci is great because you could accessorize with bright color punches and the pagoda is so darn elegant you'd just want to do the opposite and bring in subtle shade of cream and gray
ReplyDeleteTop one's my fav too. Annnd, my current crush is on Halbert Hadley for Hinson & Company's Fireworks...XXOO
