When I was a child at summer camp, we used to sing a song to the tune of taps:
Day is done, gone the sun
From the lakes, from the hills, from the skies.
All is well, safely rest.
God is nigh.
I can’t tell you how glad I am that today is done. I very much appreciate all of your lovely and supportive comments on this blog and on Facebook.
In the scheme of things, cancelling the purchase of the house is not huge, but it’s been an integral part of my life for more than six months and has occupied a large portion of my thoughts and dreams.I am going to mourn for this for a few days and then move on, hopefully finding an even better house.
Lovely photo and a lovely post- we'll find you something better and make it beautiful together...
ReplyDeletelove you loads,

You will. It's a buyer's market, babe.
ReplyDeleteOh Meg, try to believe in Fate and 'what was meant to be'! You do sound philosophical but what a loss right now.

You were so wise to walk away--as difficult as it was. I wish that I had had that wisdom concerning a house I purchased several years ago--I simply could not let go of the emotional investment that I had already placed in it. There is definitely be another house just waiting for you to discover. Beautiful photo!!
ReplyDeleteWhile I know you are sad about this, Meg, just know that this is the universe's way of taking care of you and leaving you open to the home you and Connor are supposed to live in. You were on quite the roller coaster ride with this one, only to have it come to a sudden halt. But I know in the long run you will be celebrating this twist of fate as the true blessing that it is!
ReplyDeleteBetter is just around the corner. Wishing you all the best.
ReplyDeleteOh, I missed this news....I am so sorry. But, Agree with others...something better is around the corner. 2 years ago we had to walk away from a home I loved b/c of a bad home inspection (crazy radon levels even with a mitigation system in place). In the end, I am so glad we ended up in the house we are in now. I really believe everything happens for a reason. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure my husband would die if he knew I was saying this..... but there will be another house and it will be better than this one! Take it from someone whose husband has told me this on more than one occassion and who has been right everytime!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear about your next adventure! Home is just around the corner!
Best, Lisa
