I’ll Take This… Pashley Bike

When I saw this item in the auction catalogue at Alex Cooper, I thought I’d look hilarious pedaling around my new neighbourhood with Connor nestled in the basket. Pashley bikeBut then I remembered that I live at the bottom of a valley, and am surrounded by hills, and that Connor weighs in at about 65 lbs. But I am sure that he’d be quite cozy in the basket.Pashley bike3This is a bike by the venerable English firm of Pashley, which was founded in 1926 and is located in the Bard’s hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon. This bike looks to be their “Delibike” style. Pashley bike2 Maybe I could take it to the Farmers’ Market on Sundays and fill it with fresh fruits and veg. What do you think?

  1. Connor might enjoy it. In choosing your cycling wardrobe, make sure there are no possible associations with you-know-who in The Wizard of Oz. I have seen a great rattan and cane bike that was very stylish.

  3. A most stylish way to find yourself to work. Needs paint though, perhaps something to match the colors of Petite Louis's van?

  4. If you can get it for $100 or less, okay. But You Live At the Bottom of a Valley. It might look nice outside the house with the basket full of flowers. Ann

  5. What a fabulous bike and basket. I use a market basket on my bike at the cape that holds a few items, but you could do some serious shopping with the wonderful large basket on this bike. Looks like fun.

  8. If the folks drive anywhere are erratically as some of the dimwits here in Annapolis, biking to the market is perilous indeed! I like Ann's idea of placing flowers in the basket. Go for it and good luck in the hopes to stay dry this weekend!

  9. I think even the fittest person would need more gears than this could offer for those hills!
    Have a great weekend

  12. You could make your own bike - just copy what they have done. A reasonable price would beat what this will cost you. Ann
