Don’t forget to put your name into the pot for the classic interior design book, Mark Hampton’s “On Decorating”. Connor will be staying up late on Friday to pick the winner who will be announced on Saturday! I’ve been re-reading this book over the past few days, and it’s fascinating how much of what Mark Hampton says is still perfectly relevant today.
In addition to the book, there will be a few other little items tucked into this package, so don’t forget to enter!
That is the color I pick for your front door!! I love the color of that book!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a copy of this book. I owned it many years ago but gave it to my daughter when she moved to Manhattan. I agree, it is relevant today. A true classic design book for yesterday, today and tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI would paint your door a blue color. The blue would be lighter than a dark marine blue but the military blue color that is so vibrant and striking. I know this would look great with the pale yellow house.
Hope we get to see the finished color.
I'm thinking maybe an aqua blue for your door. Of course it's hard to visualize without seeing the yellow. If not aqua, maybe a dark blue... check out Duron's Regatta Blue or Georgian Bay. Decisions, decisions!!
ReplyDeleteCount me in on Mark Hampton - I think even the cover of the book is compelling, not to mention the content.
Have a great weekend!
Would love to own this book. Tough choise on the door color. I would probaly play it safer and go with some kind of muted pale green. Happy Friday.

ReplyDeleteMeg, I would love to add this to my decor collection, a classic for inspiration! Love the book's sketches you featured....enjoy the rest of the summer!
ReplyDeleteThis book looks wonderful not only for the design but the addition of beautiful watercolors too!
ReplyDeleteOk, the front door. Since black won't work how about Annie Sloans Aubusson blue. It's a beautiful European blue that would go perfectly with a soft yellow and if it's too dark you could dial it down with some of her Old White. This paint goes on and dries within minutes. Really beautiful stuff.
Dear Connor,
ReplyDeletePlease pick me to win the book. I have 2 dogs and am very nice to them, taking them on daily walks, giving them treats and allowing them to sleep on my bed occasionally.
Thanks!
It would be exciting to own this beautiful book and have all of his columns and his ideas.
