I’ll Take This: Two Bed Mews Flat

I am just like Eva Gabor on Green Acres – I love city life! But I do get distracted by a pretty country property, especially one in a manor house in the UK.image

I love the tall windows, high ceilings and period details in this room. imageAnd I love the Tudor-style mirror above the fireplace.

In fact, the whole flat seems to be filled with light. image

A nice little hidden-away garden. imageLove the window style, but I bet they were originally leaded glass, perhaps in a diamond pattern. It looks like they’ve been replaced with double-glazed windows, which is surprising for a conversion like this one.

The property is 10 acres, including a tennis court, imagebut I wonder if they’d let me have a little veg garden?

  1. Lovely! It looks like it is divided into separate apartments. Is it?

    1. It does look like a few units. But there was no other information.

  2. Lovely indeed. I'm curious why it's called a mews flat. I've always thought of a mews as a group of small, tucked away nestling of homes in a city.

  3. I am pretty sure that I saw this development featured on a BBC show several years ago. It looked very nice then and still does, but that is a load of quid for just two beds!

  4. Lovel! We're already talking about our next trip over. Thought of you today when I read a post on William Morris at www.susanbranch.com Do you ever read her? She had an extended stay in the UK this summer and has some great pics. I want to live in William Morris' house, but I'd happily settle for this flat!

  5. Which fulfills my belief that if a structure has good bones you can do so much.

  6. I adore the house and grounds from the outside, but I'd have to do a major de-whiting on the inside. I need dark oriental carpets, red velvet covered antique sofas and chairs, dark jewel-toned drapes, and the rest. If Vincent Price wouldn't look at home in the room, then it's not my style. 8-)
