You might remember that a little more than a month ago, our friend Larry was shot in a random act of violence. It was shocking and heartbreaking to everyone who knew him, to the residents of Mount Vernon where he lives, and to everyone in the city.
This morning, an arrest was made in the case, beginning the long process of bringing the shooter to trial. The police worked hard to solve the case, but it was routine community policing and patrolling, and an arrest on a much smaller charge, that lead to the break in the case.
Larry is much improved, although he has a long road ahead of him to full recovery. Please continue to send good thoughts and wishes for him.
That is good news. It is important to get the word out that criminals will be found and prosecuted. I wish your friend Larry a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteThanks, TDC... It's going to be a long road.
DeleteWhen homeless shelters harbor guests without a background check ---a hotel wants to see my drivers license and credit card --- a homeless shelter, funded by the community in some manner, bears a responsibility in trying not to contribute to the decline of the social structure.
ReplyDeleteSuch good news Meg. I don't know Larry but he has been in my thoughts this past month. I hope he continues on his road to recovery.
ReplyDeleteMuch love

I know that Larry and his partner appreciate your good thoughts.
DeleteSo glad an arrest has been made, and I hope your friend Larry continues to improve!

Good police work by a rookie cop!
DeleteOH, this is good news, hope your friend recovers fully! Another reason to ban weapons.....
ReplyDeleteVictoria... rusted gun with the serial numbers filed off. I agree with a weapons ban. It's shocking the gun violence here.
DeleteMeg, I'm so glad to read this. And I'm so happy to hear Larry is on the mend.
ReplyDeleteThis world is scaring the hell out of me.
No wonder we have an alternative life in our blogs, eh?

I so agree with you about the weapons. Those on the other side would argue that if the "good people" would carry weapons, the "bad people" wouldn't be the only ones with guns, and it would be a safer society. Why is it that we only hear of innocent people being hurt? It's not that the so-called "liberal media" doesn't report on the other stories.
ReplyDeleteI hope that Larry continues to improve, however slowly it may be. I'm pulling for him!
More foot patrols are a good thing. I'm glad to hear Larry is doing better, and maybe it will help Ulrich's family to know of the arrest. Wish I could think that it was possible to remove weapons in the US, but not likely these days.
ReplyDeletethat is good news. All the best for Larry's continued recovery
