I’ll Take This… House in London

I talked about the eye-watering prices of the Oxford Collection, but this price made me sob… E1-2 This amazing house in a funky neighbourhood in London is available for £1,800 a week! That translates to $2,821.68 a week, or $11,286.72 a month!E1-1A charming 18th Century house steeped in history and restored to its former glory offering 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. E1-7 Further accommodation includes 3 reception rooms, large kitchen/breakfast room, guest cloakroom and wonderful garden, E1-9 unusually large for the area, with an artist's studio to the rear.

Here are a few more pictures:

E1-3 the second loungeE1-7 the second bathroomE1-4 a bedroomE1-6 another bedroom, not wild about the blue, but love the woodwork,E1-5 the third bedroom, with built-in book cases.

Hmmm… no pictures of the kitchen, so I wonder what’s up with that space.

So, if you have a spare $11000+ a month, you could rent this place!

  1. Holy cow, that is a beautiful and wildly expensive rental. I love the bed in the blue room. And I love the lounges.

Hope you and Connor are having a good week.

  2. I have a friend moving to London this weekend, but that house would be a bit spendy for her.

  3. Where is this? Looks like Spitalfields from the first photo.
£1800 a week for a 3 bed house in central London doesn't sound crazy.

  5. I love the house!! HOwever, I hope that it is not being advertised as "furnished"...those beds do not look very inviting and the settee shown with the chesterfield is missing its back cushions. Have a great day--how is Connor? Mary

  7. Oh my that house is a blank slate, the possibilities are endless. The bedding-- leftover from the previous tenant. the landlord is not about to fuss with the disposal of that anyway --reuse re purpose re cycle hara har. Get a plastic rubberized mattress cover to zip up the bed bugs fleas and ticks and you are good to go. While watching the Nate Berkus show --if one in 6 people are at poverty that show is aimed at the 5 out of 6 people with a job and responsibilities that want to enjoy life and have a few extra bucks to spend on paint and have a life don't you think???. I am getting tired of hearing about the homeless-- when those that trudge off to the salt mines to work and Pay taxes to have street lights etc--- need a break and we need the POST Office i emphasis post let us keep it Present . We need to be accountable for our actions. Re-elect Michelle

  8. Meg, I actually like the blue. Maybe I am just getting tired of beige.

BTW, met a guy this evening who rents a house for just his dogs. Should I send this notice his way?

    Best, Lisa

  9. So funny...I saw the bed with the inlay and quirky turnings and thought how I would kill for it (sans mattress) and then I skip to the comments just before posting mine! Beauty indeed is in the eye of the beholder.

  10. At eleven grand a month, I assume the kitchen is someone else's problem.

  11. Great possibilites here... although I must say they arranged that bathroom all wrong. The tub should be under the window, and the toilet should be where the tub is, with some shelving/ambiance/privacy around it. Don't even get me started on the shower tiles.
