When I bought my little sewing machine two weeks ago, little did I know that I would fall in love with the process of making pillow covers. I am having such fun creating combinations of colour and pattern to make something new using the amazing selection of fabrics that I’ve been finding at DeBois Textiles. It’s rapidly becoming an addiction, as I dragged myself from my sickbed last week to make a run for orange juice and more fabrics!
Several people have asked if I will be selling the pillows, and I am sure that eventually I will do it on my Etsy site. But before I do that, I thought I would offer one to my readers, as a thank you for taking the time to visit and read Pigtown*Design.
I have chosen four of my designs, from which you may select one. They measure either 16x16 or 20x20 and have a feather/down inset.

Pillow 4 will be perfect in my sun room, where we enjoy looking at the birds feeding outside. All are great looking accessories!

They are all awesome....but my favorite is the birds. Did you get that fabric at Deboise also? I need to learn to sew, the extent for me has been some cute bibs and burp cloths for my daughter!

ReplyDeleteMeg, I stopped into DuBois on Saturday and came out with fabric, a pair of jeans, and a great retro purse. The accent fabric on Pillow 3 is one of the fabrics I picked up to make a table cloth. What a coincidence.

Susie... I did get that at DeBois. It's a very heavy linen. I made a pillow for my mother with the birds on it, too.

I go to housefabrics.com to purchase interesting fabrics for decorating. However, in your pillow drawing I love #1 and #4 - The birds would match another pillow I did with birds and curry colored suede. Thanks for the interesting reading!
