My second story for the Baltimore Sun is on their website now. Here. It will be in print on Sunday, February 19th.With all of the attention that Downton Abbey’s receiving, many people are thinking of collecting antiques. The article details how to learn about and collect antiques, and features the up-coming Maryland Antiques Show at Hunt Valley, which I will talk about it a little more detail next week.

It promises to be an interesting antiques show. And what a treat it would be to take the tour of the show with James Archer Abbott!

ReplyDeleteI recently sold one of my favorite pieces in the shop--a mid-Nineteenth Century two-piece crotch-grain mahogany bookcase with old glass doors--to a couple in their 20s who've never bought anything old before. It replaced a three-month-old Billy bookcase from IKEA. I take that as a good omen.
ReplyDeletegood news for antique dealers; so many dealers have told me that their business has been off for the last decade. Looking forward to your article tomorrow.
