There’s a great song from the old Broadway musical “Kiss Me, Kate” called “Too Darn Hot” and that song has been running through my mind the past few days… and I am sure it will continue for the next two or three days.
Here’s a great version of the song done by the amazing Ann Miller.
Seriously! Here are two pictures in my car, one at lunch and one as I was leaving the office! I had to go out and buy the baby a little baby pool, which he thinks is a giant water dish. Just wait until his best friend arrives on Friday afternoon and shows Connor what it’s really for!
Stay cool, y’all!
It IS too darn hot but it is kind of funny that we are all sharing it.... across blogland!
ReplyDeleteUsually some of us are in snow or rain or a drought or fending tornados but right now.... we are all HOT!
This puppy in the pool photo is too precious!
Love it.

Perhaps Ann Miller's greatest performance and certainly my favorite. A what better reason to choose a sturdy coffee table?
ReplyDeleteDivine! You are so good to Connor! This heat is REALLY hard on our animals! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteHa! That is a fun apartment in Kiss Me Kate - I always loved it in the Dick Van Dyke show when Mary Tyler Moore would randomly get up and do a dance to bongo drums whenever they had a party . . . .KDM
ReplyDeleteAh Kiss Me Kate! I saw that on Broadway like 10 years ago!
ReplyDeleteConnor looks so cute in that baby pool. Have a good weekend Meg! Looking forward to seeing you next!
Ann Miller was a real class act, all the way to her brilliant final role as Coco Lenoix in Mulholland Drive by David Lynch.
ReplyDeleteDon't complain. It's been in the 60s and raining in London all week. We're desperate for some summer weather.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this video so much. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGiant Water Bowl! That cracks me up!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see Connor in the kiddie pool. It's supposed to reach 119 with the heat index today. Perhaps your local readers will be kind enough to put a bowl of water in a shady area for thirsty wildlife and/or strays in need of some relief.
ReplyDeleteHugo... I have a water dish in the back yard for the little fox who lives near me, and who I see out back sometimes at night.
ReplyDeleteI've had that song stuck in my head too. It was 83 at 4:30am this morning, and 102 again at 5:00 this afternoon, where the highest temperature I've seen here in the past was 92 or so. Connor at least seems happy. My sympathies to Hugo C.
ReplyDeleteOh, lucky Connor! Whether to drink or paddle around in...he's one lucky dog... Stay cool Meg.
ReplyDeleteStay cool. I hate to boast, but it is great here in LA: 78* and sunny (usually I want to be on the East Coast, but not this week).
ReplyDeleteThat is one of my all-time favorite tap dance scenes... I especially love the look on the face of the blond woman sitting on the couch.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes - it's TOO DARN HOT! Any room in the doggie pool for me?
