Leah, who writes the great blog "More Ways to Waste Time", has featured me and my tiny house on the House Voyeur section of her blog. It's been a fun process, answering her lengthy questionnaire, taking loads of pictures of my house and really thinking about why I have some of the things that I do. The hardest thing was taking the pictures, because my house is only 11.5 feet wide, so it's hard to get any perspective.
I hope that you will take a look at the article and let me know what you think. Thank you so much, Leah!!!
I love your house and what you've done with it! I've driven by your neighborhood before on my way to little italy or the inner harbor area.
ReplyDeleteI live in a small (500 sq foot) condo and so far I've only refinished the heart of pine floors (were pickled) and redid the bathroom. I haven't even painted the livingroom yet (and it needs it badly).
I'm kinda doing what you did and not decorating until I've lived in it a while longer. I did the remodeling before I moved in becuase I figured once I moved in it would just be too hard.
Have a great weekend
Cindy
I think your house looks bright, warm and comfy. You have some great finds. My favorite find is your "discount" dog--what a cutie!
ReplyDeleteYou have done a great job with your home. I love the yellow and all the great fabrics. Shopping for a bargain is part of my nature. Especially the way you did the bargains- they look like a million!
ReplyDeleteHow charming! Love it, esp. "letting the house speak to you". Too few realise this, everyting is rush, rush, rush...
ReplyDeleteMeg! I love it ~ expecially the lavender curtains in the bedroom. I would like to daydream there all afternoon. And your dresser with the Wedgewood teapot...sigh. See you tomorrow...for another house tour!
ReplyDeleteI love what you've done with the place! Very creative and looks super cozy! Your dog is the best find of all! SO CUTE!
ReplyDeleteThanks again, Meg!
ReplyDeleteLeah
Looks great, I expected nothing less than fabulously chic decor from you. LOVE the sweater "cabinet"...simply marvelous.
ReplyDeleteLoved reading about your move to the UK and back and seeing a little of your home—favourites are the Chinese silk painting, the barrister’s bookcase for cashmere sweater storage, and of course, your completely adorable Connor.
ReplyDeleteI love your house and what you've done with it! And how often do people in row houses say they have fabulous light? You're lucky.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed by your can-do also. Especially using a laser level to hang pictures.
I've said this before: Please report to my house immediately. Your help is urgently needed.
Hi Meg!
ReplyDeleteIt was so fun to see your very pretty home. I felt like I got to know you a little bit better. I have found some great stuff at garage sales and flea markets, and I am attached to them because of their story. Your home tells a wonderful story too!
The pictures were great. They showed how intimate and comfortable your house is. And now I have another great blog to read!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being featured!^^
ReplyDeleteIt's great!! I loved seeing your home!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all of the lovely comments. It was a bit scary opening my house for comments, but I am very glad that I did it.
ReplyDeleteThis is how I picture the homes of the women in Anita Brookner novels.
ReplyDeleteFor those of you who don't know the author Anon @ 1:13 is referring to, here's an explanation from Wiki:
ReplyDeleteBrookner is highly regarded as a stylist. Her fiction, which has been heavily influenced by her own life experiences, explores themes of isolation, emotional loss and difficulties associated with fitting into English society. Her novels typically depict intellectual, middle-class women, who suffer isolation, emotional loss and disappointments in love.
Much of this does not describe me, so take it as you will.
I love your house- it's a great reflection of your varied interests as well as your past. Of course, Cooper was my favorite part of the house tour! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm very impressed by what you did with 700 square feet. Oh, and my favorite yellow piece of yours is...the doggie. : )
ReplyDeletecongrats on the article! and what an adorable little row house you have. it certainly looks like its bigger than 700 sf- I mean, you even have a guest bedroom!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing,
Rachel
I finally made time to leave a comment on Leah's site! Thanks for sharing. Loved learning more about you.
ReplyDeletelove your home (11.5' wide? now that's a decorating challenge!), but i must agree- your best find is connor-pup, for sure! and he's SO photogenic!
ReplyDeletecongrats on the great feature!
