It’s very odd, but on December 5th for the past dozen or so years, we’ve had some sort of snow on that date. We just got flurries this year. Funnily though, it’s never snowed on December 7th. I am fascinated with weather and clouds.
I was reading the Guardian this morning and saw that they had more pictures of the UK in the snow. One of my favourite places in the UK is Hay-on-Wye, the town of books… and wonderful antique shops. So when I saw this picture, I was enchanted. The Black Mountains loom up over the Wye River valley, which separates England and Wales. It’s a gorgeous part of the world.
Oh, this is so picturesque! Love these sheep under the tree.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I discovered the blog 'A Brit In Tennessee', have you seen? Gorgeous pictures and lovely writing!
Oh, and your post on Carolyne Roehm, perfect, I adore her elegance!
Happy holidays!

PS: First flurries here too this morning, but already gone again...
That's suitable for framing. Printed on canvas.
ReplyDeleteStunning photo! I dream of white christmases - the year I was in Europe during the season, they had almost no snow fall even in the Cairngorms in Scotland. It may have made our travelling easier but...
ReplyDeleteMeg...let's go to Wales, OK?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Meg. Thanks for sharing it. What a wonderful start to my day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the morning beauty.
ReplyDeleteBeen talking to some of my friends in Oxford and the weather has not been enjoyable for them ... bus schedules destroyed, streets impassable, dark days, etc.
ReplyDeleteJust thankful that while it is cold here, we have not gotten any serious snow!
