It's snowing here, but not too much. We consider ourselves southerners and do not know how to drive in snow, which is really pretty infrequent here in Baltimore.
There's a big pine tree outside of my office and I took a couple of pictures of the snow on it and then another of Tivoli House.
Because I have to walk Connor several times a day, rain or shine, hot or cold, I bought a great pair of winter boots at Target. They look very nice and are fleece-lined, which makes them great for long dog-walks. I had some of those fun Tamara Henriques ones, but they are crap in the snow and cold because they're not lined. Here's my still life with snow boots. Too bad I can't have a roaring fire going in my fireplace on a day like this!
Yes, but what a beautiful fireplace it is.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! ANd the boots look great! I still have vivid memories of my one and only trip to visit my cousins in Baltimore. It was spring and the magnolia trees were in full bloom. It snowed overnight, and the morning scene with a fresh blanket of snow and the magenta lavendar blossoming Magnolia tree was breataking. It was such a fragile moment. The tree lost all of it's withered frozen blossoms the next day
ReplyDeletedid the snow storm already hit? My husband grew up in Baltimore, nice to hear it still snows down there! Global warming schmobal warming...
ReplyDeleteps nice english house! Have you been to Ladew Topiary Gardens?
Nice boots from Target. My feet stay toasty because I always wear thick wool socks -- all of my boots are unlined. We are looking for more snow in New Jersey. What a winter!
ReplyDeleteLove the snow photographs...and nice to think we were out taking pictures at the same time today. I had my $40 army surplus boots on ~ not terribly stylish, but oh-so-warm!
ReplyDeleteComfy looking boots.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the snow - I hope it doesn't get too tedious.
We here in Southern CA are trying not to rub it in, but I spent a lovely morning on the beach yesterday.....
Wait. Are you telling me those adorable boots are from TARGET?
ReplyDeleteAre you trying to make me cry?!
I love your snowy photos, PD :-)
We have snow,it is frigid here, and I need new boots! I love the header, Meg
ReplyDeleteGreat boots - excellent fireplace!! Does it work?
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm going to have to look a little more closely at Target's shoe department. Those are very cool warm boots!
ReplyDeletekathleen... you may have to look on-line. i bought them a half a size bigger for wearing big socks.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that dogs love to romp in the snow so much? They never get cold and we have to stand there shivering with our noses running and eyes watering enduring the freezing temperatures because it makes us happy to see them frolicking.
ReplyDeleteLove it! And love those boots.
ReplyDeleteLove your still lifes! You are invited to come by my blog tomorrow for a snowy walk with my dog. : ) Sharing the fun in the snow.
ReplyDeletelove that fire-place, what is preventing you from making a fire? love the boots and snow days too.
