In the New York Times today, there was a great series of cartoons by Maira Kalman about her trip to the inauguration last week. Click here to see all of the images, but here are a few to whet your appetite. Maira Kalman has also done an illustrated version of the writing classic, Elements of Style, here. Do take a look, she's very clever.
Don't you think?

I gave that illustrated Elements of Style to my brother and his wife, both newspaper editors (and I preceded them in the same J School almost a decade earlier). It was a perfect gift.

Love maira kalman - used one of her illustrations of Lincoln on inauguration day - did you see all the other drawings online - and did you know that she will do a feature on democracy on the last friday of every month. I think it will be like the monthly series she did for the NYT's in 2006 - 2007
ReplyDeleteThank you thank you for this post!! I wouldn't have seen it if not for you...
