Already October is shaping up to be a very busy month! There are some really great events happening this month that you should add to your calendar.
October 9th – Saturday marks the all-day lecture about Billy Baldwin at Evergreen House. There are still a few spaces open, so get your reservation in ASAP! This day-long symposium will address interior design in Baltimore and the legacy of Billy Baldwin. Talks by James Abbott, director and curator of Evergreen Museum & Library; Steven Sutor, senior interior design associate, Chambers; Edward Zajac, interior designer and former assistant at Baldwin & Martin, Inc.; and Adam Lewis, author of Billy Baldwin: The Great American Decorator (2010, Rizzoli); in addition to exhibition viewing and a panel discussion featuring Baltimore-based friends of Billy Baldwin.
The following weekend – on Friday, October 15th and Saturday, October 16th, I will be hosting the Second Annual Fall Tour de Baltimore. Please e-mail me here and let me know which day you’ll be joining the fun. We will be starting at DeBois Textiles, then heading to Housewerks, then uptown to McLain-Wiesand on Friday and Book Thing on Saturday. We will stop for lunch at the newly opened The Dizz, which has the most spectacular view of Baltimore and then taking in a few other places.
On Saturday, October 30th, my friend Tracey and I are hosting the Annual Halloween Party @ Housewerks! I wrote about this a few years ago and it’s a great time. This year’s party will benefit the Baltimore Architecture Foundation and the tickets are $20 per person in advance and $25 per person at the door. Tickets include beer, wine and treats, as well as surprises all evening. For more information or to purchase tickets, click here.
I hope to see you at one or all of these events!
