Alexa Hampton: The Language of Interior Design

I was graciously invited to the book party for the launch of Alexa Hampton’s new book, The Language of Interior Design. Alexa 01 The party was held at the amazing John Rosselli Antiques shop in New York.

Alexa could not have been nicer and took time to personally sign everyone’s book and have a little chat with them. Alexa 001 She’s as lovely in person as she is in photographs!  The book is simply gorgeous and full of the most beautiful pictures of 18 different residences that she’s designed.

John Rosselli Antiques was the perfect place for the party. My host, Jonathan, was kind enough to introduce me around and I was over the moon to have the chance to spend a few minutes talking to my design and style idol, Bunny Williams.Alexa 014 Each and every place you look, you see something totally amazing! Alexa 004 I can’t find enough superlatives in my vocabulary to describe the luscious items on offer. Alexa 007 Every single piece in the shop was the finest quality and the best of its kind. Alexa 008 It was wonderful being in a place surrounded by such incredible pieces (and such beautiful people!).Alexa 016 To read another piece about the party, check out New York Social Diary, which has a lot more pictures of John Rosselli Antiques. I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with David Patrick Columbia, the editor/writer/photographer of NYSD.

Thanks again for everything, Jonathan!

  8. Thanks for letting us know about this book. When I've finished blog-reading, I'll head over to Amazon.

Have you read The Art of Friendship? It's a delightful collection of sketches, drawings, and watercolors done by Mark Hampton. It was compiled by Duane Hampton, Alexa's mother and the widow of the notable designer. It was published in 2001.

  9. These chandeliers look incredible and elegant. These models are perfect for any occasions.

I have 2 hand forged iron chandeliers (one at the kitchen and at the bedroom). I bought these last year. Chandeliers are one of the hand forged home accents that adds an elegant look to your home design. In designing my home, I want one that has a touch of gothic theme. The two chandeliers that I bought are fit for the goth concept.
