My mother joined me at the Farmers' Market this morning and while she got several hanging baskets and potted flowers, I only got more peonies. The ones I bought last week lasted until Saturday, when I saw that all of the petals had fallen off overnight.
This week, I bought a few stems of open blooms and a few of buds. I will be very curious to see if/when the buds actually bloom.
I put the peonies, which were white with streaks of pink, in a pink tin from Fauchon, which I brought back from Paris.
So beautiful and the pink tin is so elegant.
ReplyDeleteI never tire of peonies -- my favorite flower. I have a white one that just bloomed this morning, but our fuschia-pink ones are all faded now.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love peonies. My all time favorite flower! I was just walking the pups and saw that a bunch of my neighbors have peonie bushes that are now blooming. I just wanted to snip, snip and sneak a couple of stems home!
ReplyDeleteAgain...I just love peonies! So pretty, and these are so beautiful.

The grandeur of peonies in a Fauchon tin...hopefully once housing their chocolates...mmmmmm.
ReplyDeleteA delicious, luuxrious combination.
I just love peonies! I wish I could have them year round! Did you know that you could save the buds in your fridge for a few weeks?
ReplyDeleteRIta... i just heard about that and should try it with the buds that i bought.
ReplyDeleteMeg - they are beautiful even if short lived. The white are my favorites - perfect in that container.

cute tin - i hate that they don't last longer and then they just die so suddenly!!!
ReplyDeleteLove Love Love- my favorite by far!
ReplyDeleteI just put up a post tonight with my new peonies that I got at Costco of all places on Thursday. $8.99 was a deal I couldn't pass up.
I love the white- they had the pink as well but also a dark dark red like color. I was very interested in them- but passed and kept with the white.
So cheerful! They seem to be a favorite of everyone I know!
I'm another fan of peonies. We have a numer of plants, its a fight every year to keep the deer out of them.
