The Vogue Cover, Reimagined

A lot of people are up in arms about the April Vogue cover featuring two people who have less than stellar characters and morals, and who, strictly speaking, are not fashion or design people.

In protest, many people have re-imagined the cover. Here are some fun ones.image

  1. I could not agree more with you assessment of the current cover subjects, but I think Kayne would disagree with you. In addition to comparing himself and his work and its impact on society he mentioned that he is right up there with Steve Jobs and of course Jesus. He is also, according to his opinion, one of the most fashion forward designers of our time.

    I love the covers.

  2. I loathe the Kardashians, each and every one of them, particularly the one on the cover of Vogue (say what?????). Kanye West, though, he rocks! At least -- unlike the slag he fathered a child with -- he is talented! Reggie

  4. As I am in love with both Sherlock and Watson, I must put that cover at the top of my list!
Really though, aren't Km and Kanye getting to be really old news...surprised at Anna!

  6. I think it's ridiculous to complain that Kanye and Kim shouldn't be on the cover of Vogue because they aren't "fashion or design people" (though they actually are) when the majority of Vogue covers are of actors. The days of actual cover models are long, long over.

Also, saying that they shouldn't be on the cover because of their morals and character? Seriously? This is not Time's Person of the Year. It's the cover of a fashion magazine. A very good fashion magazine, but still.

    1. Agreed I would think Kanye has better morals and character than the average model, photographer or editor. I think it's quite clear that many don't feel they are of the right sort and all of the nastiness that that entails. I'm not a fan of either nor of the magazine but Kanye does have a lot of talent. This is just classicism/racism repackaged and I'm surprised so many have the time to be outraged. The covers, by the way, are not funny. Rogan and Franco in particular need a new gag.

  8. Hilarious!

I do find the kerfuffle over the current cover amusing. If "morals" or "character" or fashion or design had anything to do with anything, tons of Vogue cover subjects would never make the cut.

The point is to sell magazines. Period.

    1. I wonder if the number of magazines they sell will cover the costs of the subscriptions that have been cancelled.

  10. I will not be buying this issue simply because I am so tired of hearing about these people. I will barely be able to stand near it in line at the grocery store. Vogue, what are you thinking???

  11. I'm serious here: Kermit and Piggy would be a great cover, Sherlock and Watson would be another good choice! However, I can't stop dreaming about the Obama and Putin twosome! Anna needs to loosen up....shred that "Prada" image! Angela Muller
