David Goes to L.A….

… and wants your help in finding fabulous places to visit.

My friend David Wiesand, proprietor of McLain Wiesand, about which I’ve written many times, is visiting LA next week with his daughter and is looking for some great places to visit. I made some suggestions, including the Pacific Design Center, PDC Hollyhock, hollyhock LACMA, LACMA the Getty Museum getty-museum and the Getty Villa, getty_villa and Melrose Avenue.

What are the places you think David, and his 21-year old daughter, Lexie, should visit? Leave your suggestions in the comments.  … And M21, are you available to meet up with him?

  2. Don't forget a trip to Pasadena--great museums (Huntingdon Library), great shopping on Colorado Blvd. and many great restaurants. See Katiedid blog post of today.

  3. The Kogi BBQ truck is not to be missed! Believe they hype; it is indeed as good as everyone says it is (I had it when I was out there in October). They have four trucks now (was just three back in October) and the location of each is listed on the schedule on their website, www.kogibbq.com

I love how the only thing I know about LA is food. Go me.

  6. Venice -- walk along the canals then head 2 blocks to the beachfront. People watching is fascinating. Rappers will be out hawking their CDs. Rent bikes and cycle, or just stroll along the gritty boardwalk, past murals, Muscle Beach, head shops (excuse me: "medical clinics"), and sidewalk vendors selling everything from mini surfboard lamps to vintage posters.

  7. The MAK Center @ Rudolf Schindler House in West Hollywood.

Musso & Frank Grill on Hollywood Blvd.
