Oh beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America! God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!
Oh Beautiful for patriots’ dreams
That see beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam,
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America! God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!
Wow - love this ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ !!
ReplyDeleteThanks Meg.
ReplyDeletegreat post.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThe best way to honor the American dream is to honor those who did it the hard way. I salute Barack Obama as person who used education to break away and dream forward. George Bush, not so much. As for Mr. Joe Wilson of South Carolina, representing the Law & Order party, there are laws/rules in the House of Representatives and there is Order to be maintained. To do less, makes mock of the death of so many innocent people. For America to survive, we must rise to our very best. We must enforce laws for civility to remain.
ReplyDeleteYes! And thank you, these were the right words!
ReplyDeleteThank you. In my thoughts all day yesterday...lovely post. Trish
ReplyDeleteSimply ** Beautiful **
ReplyDeleteWill never forget...
Lovely. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice thing to post the song lyrics with the photo. They're becoming lost; it's a shame we Americans don't sing together any more.
ReplyDeleteI hesitate to say this as I don't want to be critical, but it does distract: It's "purple montains' majesty".
I know! Picky! And you probably found it this way. But thanks for letting me point it out as this common error does mar the beauty of the words.
