Nate, Again!

I was on the Nate Berkus show again, but this time it was a little more serious. Meg Nate 2 I worked with a family whose home is in foreclosure to help organize them so they can clear out the house and move on with their lives.     Excellent yard sale advice Meg. A few years back we held a very successful sale in order to clear out some space so our daughter could move back in with us for a while. Newspaper ads and street signs helped a lot. I did have everything pre tagged and we did have a special area at the very back with our collectibles and antiques (so people hd to walk through everything else to get to it). We had a special Christmas area etc. as well. My husband and myself were the "walkers" and our daughter was stationed were people had to walk past her to leave with a small table and the cash box. Organization is key. We had a discussion over every item we tagged so that we were all on the same page with what we would and would not accept as a "lowest price". Excellent presentation Meg and, really, you are a natural on TV.

    You are my dream. I read about you and your yard sale skills in the Baltimore Sun awhile back and I've been following your blog ever since!

    I'm a young thrift store owner myself, and watching your tips is an inspiration. It makes me feel happy to know that I really can make a living selling "junk" and having fun just like I always wanted to!
