There are several things that I liked about this one - the keystones that make up the arch, the decorative cutwork and then the double doors. The ivy surrounding it really helps to door stand out.
This is such an interesting look with the distinctive lattice-work and the detailing on the screen door. It looks like there's a red door behind it, but it's unfortunate that they used plexiglass in the door instead of real glass. It really cheapens a good look.
I am not wild about the colours on this door, but someone had a sense of humour with the two squirrels just below the pediment. This door is unusual in that it's all glass panes. I wondered if this was just the door to a small entry hall. The house where we lived as small children was stone, and I've always retained a special fondness for stone houses. I love love love this house and the three palladian front doors! When I drove by the other day, the middle set of the three was open and someone was working in the front yard. Pick your favourite!
the bottom door, of course! Why stop at 1 door when you can have 3? LOL beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm a complete sucker for the lattice. So predictable.
ReplyDeletethe first one! for sure!!!!
ReplyDeleteif I have to chose for my own house it would be the bottom photo + the stone walls.

ReplyDeleteYes, those multiple doors reek of a John O'Hara cocktail party about to begin.
ReplyDeleteI saw this the other day on "House of Turquoise." Talk about a knock-out door:

ReplyDeleteLove # 2. I love to see unique doorways windows etc. It really makes the entrance to the home so enticing
ReplyDeleteSorry, they are not Palladian windows. Just Porte-fenĂȘtre. The house is lovely, though :-)
