Blue Porch Ceilings at the Post

Several weeks ago, Terri Sapienza at the Washington Post put out a call for blue porch ceilings and I answered it. But due to over-zealous spam filters, we didn't connect until Tuesday, when she'd already written the article. The posts I did last summer, here and here on the blue porch ceilings at Tivoli House where I work, are among the most highly viewed pages on Pigtown*Design.
The colour we chose for the porch ceiling paint is Duron's Bluebell. The hex code is #A7D2E9 and the RGB values are 167, 210 and 233. I think it is a great colour for the porch and works perfectly with the fieldstone and pale yellow paint on the trim.
Here are some more pictures of the blue porch ceiling.

Be sure to read Terri's story on blue paints!

  4. I'm so sorry it did not work out for Woodbourne to be in Terri's piece but I'm glad you are sharing links to her story and your past posts. Pale blue porch ceilings are so classic and refreshing.

  7. There is a blue tradtionally used for front porches in the deep south called "Haint" blue, for it's purported abilities at keeping such creatures at bay. It's a pretty pale blue color with a bit of green mixed in.

  10. I read this article in the WP as well. If I ever have a "front porch" I will consider this option for painting.

    * I have posted a review on the lingerie hanger today for all to read!*
