Another Style Quiz

And this one’s actually pretty good. I liked some of the choices, although I was horrified about the “stylish cul-de-sac living”. Sounds a bit nightmarish to me!image

I took the quiz twice and got this once:image

and this once:image

Honestly, much as I hate to admit that I’d be Country, the description fits a bit better… except for the running through the meadows bit.

The quiz is here.

  1. I love to take these quizzes; thanks for the link. And your 'stylish cul-de-sac living' comment made me giggle. Interestingly, I took it twice, too, and got the same answers: 1st traditional, then cottage.

  2. I took it twice too since there were some questions where I liked more than one answer...ie. don't make me choose between roses, peonies, and lilacs! ;) The first time around I was Casual Country and the second time I was Cottage...pretty much on target I would say!

Stay cool, it's been beastly down here and up your way too I'm sure!

    1. I know! That flower question was the hardest one!

  3. My result was Transitional, which I find bland and unappealing.

  4. Really?! You seem like the 'flitting through meadows ' type to me ... as long as its with a cocktail in hand and horses galloping over fences.

  5. That was fun! Nice pictures made it appealing. I'm Cottage, which I think is right.

  6. Hmmm.......while taking the quiz I tried to rid my mind of past associations and just go for the gut reaction..........The quiz gave a me "contemporary"--that's a first. But I do think that my aesthetic is changing; so maybe it's spot on. Now what do I do with the 18th c. Paintings, French screens, antique bed, daybed, etc?????
    Thanks for the fun.

    1. Congratulations on your new Contemporary direction, MJH. What you do with your 18th century paintings, screens & daybed is send them to me: it's the least I can do to help with the transition.

  8. I'm too much a left-brained thinker for these things. The flower question was easy--lilacs all the way--and the farmhouse choice was a snap, since Darlington House wasn't among the other choices, but I got stuck at what chair I'd sit in to chat with my girlfriend, because the chair I'd probably pick (minus that snuggly throw) was labeled "Queen Anne" which it clearly isn't, so I could hardly pick that one. And I'd go without anything on my walls before I'd hang any of that suburban-looking "art". So I had to skip a few questions altogether. Anyway, when I got all done, it came up with a style that has just about zero appeal for me. I already forgot what they called it but it was basically a dumbed-down Martha Stewart beachhouse thing. But as you say, the Stylish Cul-de Sac option did provide a moment's amusement, and laughter is always good.

  9. Arts and Crafts, which I have to say is entirely accurate.

  10. It was exactly correct for me .... Cottage. More definitively, my style is Country Cottage in the City, and I'm not the least bit shy or embarrassed claiming this style for myself!
