On and off for about two years, I’ve been working on a project with a friend of mine, and now it’s all finally coming to fruition.
We are throwing a Barn Sale! My friend is one of the most elegant, stylish and well-collected people that I know and anything that he owns comes with his imprimatur and an excellent provenance.
Here is just a glimpse of a fraction of what’s on offer…
There are bolts of gorgeous, high-end fabrics, yards of trims, hundreds of auction catalogues from Mallet, Christies and Sotheby’s (which are like textbooks of the finest pieces), glassware, china, kitchen-ware, wicker, furniture, lamps and much, much more!
We have been spending hours in the barn sorting and pricing hundreds and hundreds of items, all in preparation for this once-in-a-lifetime sale!
We have set up a Facebook event page with some more details, and we’ll be adding pictures to it just to pique your interest. We’re pretty sure it’s going to be a mob scene, but we’re also thinking it will be lots of fun, and there will be something for everyone!
As we were joking, we have everything from the sublime, like this gorgeous vermeil Kirk-Stieff silver service for 12,
to these practical barn buckets used by the farm’s horses years ago.
Most unfortunately, we can’t answer questions about specific items, there is just too much for us to keep track of, unless we’re right there… and we’re not! And sadly, no prior sales or sneak peeks for anyone – we’re trying to be fair about this.
I hope to see you there – and do say hi and introduce yourself!

ReplyDeleteYou are right! This was a quick job! I will change it. I can't proof my own work.
DeleteSigh... wish I could be there! I would snap up that gorgeous blackberry plate, and some of those fab frames. Alas, time and tide wait for no man...
ReplyDeleteI wish I was there! I believe the Kirk-Stieff silver service is my same pattern (altho mine is only sterling) I'd snap that up to add to my collection. Its been in my family forever and I treasure it. Love those wicker chairs too! Why do I still live in Los Angeles???
