Shore Thing

I've been invited to go over to the Eastern Shore to pick Christmas greenery this weekend. Boxwood, southern magnolia, cedar, holly are all on offer. I love making wreaths from magnolia leaves.
There are a couple of projects going on at the house, including the installation of gas chandelier in the library (you can see where it's missing just at the top of the picture) and some work on a winter walk. Of course, you'll get a full report and lots of pictures!

What a beautiful room, and love the picture(s). What's the one above the chimneypiece? I notice what I think are a pair of Japanese bronze lanterns at either end of the shelf of said chimneypiece.

Love the thought of making your own wreath. No magnolia here, though. Have a great weekend - can't wait to see the pics.

What a wonderful way to spend a weekend prior to the Christmas holiday. I also will enjoy seeing what you do with the boughs and branches!

Sorry I didn't come up with anything for you. Hope you have a nice time and look forward to seeing what I'm missing!

It'll be a treat. Hope the weather holds for you.

The first guy I worked for told me a great story about his first Georgetown apartment.. turns out it had a working gas line without a fixture.... he lit a candle nearby, which is how he discovered it. He also discovered he could do plaster repair if necessary.

I feel spoiled with a magnolia in my front garden!

Your library is perfection! Just the perfect place to be. More pictures soon, please1

Also, many thanks for the tip about the Target spoons. I went that very day and scored a handful of the forks for a party next week! Also, a great John Derian tray that is sold out everywhere else. One left, and I couldn't believe I got it. It's the one with the stag... really pretty and $12.99!!!

What an absolutely stunning room. Old country homes do not come with such high ceilings and windows. I can't wait to see the results.
