IKEA Paper

I was at Ikea the other morning and noticed that they have an entire section for papers. Usually, during the holiday season, they have a range of wrapping papers, ties and cards, and I am always impressed by the quality of their selection. image

I am a sucker for a stationery store, so discovering this section at Ikea is going to be my downfall. I managed to get out of there with only a few items (and 32 frames for my work project), so I was lucky.

I picked up a set of three rolls of black and white paper and it weighs a ton! ikea paper

I also bought some of their great washi tapes and have been sticking them on everything!image

Right now, their pieces come in three colour families: pink, green and black. image

Ikea has gift bags, tags, tissue paper and wrapping paper in this collection.

They also have note books, which I resisted buying. image

With the success of the UK’s Paperchase, now at Staples, I think that Ikea’s taking advantage of a great trend. And I know I will be following it!

  1. Meg, I share your enthusiasm for things decorative in paper, and am both delighted and alarmed to read that Ikea offers such an attractive selection. Delighted because I do love a new source for great wrapping supplies, but alarmed because I'm having to resist the serious urge to make my way over there TODAY!

  2. Love paper products but alas no IKEA really close. Thrilled to hear Staples is offering Paperchase, I'm on my way now.

  5. IKEA for me is 2 1/2 hours away in Dallas. When I am sad about that, I go check my bank account and smile. Hope they have some left when I go for Spring Break to keep my grandkids. I, too, as an artist, am paper-crazy--even brown kraft paper is full of potential.

  7. Hello Meg, These papers are quite fun, but I would be careful about using a lot of that patterned b/w wallpaper. I see a face and eyes in it, and I'll bet after you notice them they will start to follow you around, shades of The Yellow Wallpaper, by Charlotte Perkins Gilman!

    Happy Chinese New Year!

  8. Hi Meg, very interesting. I have never looked at Ikea papers, but it is good to know that they are substantial. I fell in love with Caspari paper a few years ago because it is so easy to wrap with. I'll check out the paper at Ikea next time I'm there. Stay warm! xo, N.

  9. If you want to see a colorful supreme court associate justice google images from the Tanner Lecture series at the University of Michigan. She's rocking her outfit, leather boots and it looks like gloves of lace.....
