Good, you're back. Now, please turn to page 42. Got it? Good. Now please cast your eyes to the upper right corner and read the by-line. It's JENNIFER DWYER! Yes, blogland's own Peak of Chic! And she's got a great article about using everyone's favourite zebra print!

Jennifer and her editors have picked out a fun selection of items, including some dinnerware by Ballard Designs that would be perfect for al fresco dining this summer,

a yellow safari dhurrie rug from Carleton Varney for Elson & Company, which would look great in my living room,
and desk accessories from the MacBeth Collection and Superdeluxe. The favourite design accessory is still "I Married Adventure" with its famous zebra-print cover, but it wasn't mentioned.

totally unrelated comment - but did you once write about liking etiquette books - i thought it was your blog but cannot find any reference - call me crazy if it was not you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the sweet post! I'm so glad you liked the article, especially as it was a lot of FUN to write!! (I love the cover of "IMA" too!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us know!!

ReplyDeleteooo pigtown thank you for letting us know - jennifer you dark horse you! ( or should I say zebra!)
ReplyDeletePS - I think My husband can relate to that last book there!;-)
I read the magazine the other day and never put 2 and 2 together! How cool!!
ReplyDeleteI always love Jennifer's pieces in HB. She is such a great writer and of course we all admire her taste!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool. I will have to get a copy. Jennifer is so chic!
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about zebra prints that makes them so appealing? They never go out of style and look great in every sort of room.
ReplyDeleteAnd why zebra? Why not tiger or giraffe? For some reason, they're not quite the same are they?
Any thoughts?
Jennifer, I have a skirt that is brown and tan "zebra" stripes and a friend calls it my tiger skirt! The person who wrote the I Married Adventure book also wrote a second book, the cover of which as a giraffe print!
ReplyDeleteSo good to know. Read that article and didn't check the by-line. Good for her!
ReplyDeleteThanks everybody! I really appreciate the kind words :)
ReplyDeleteIt's sitting right here and now I'm aquiver with anticipation. Any bubbles left? Raise a glass to Peak for me.
ReplyDeleteE&E, no bubbles left, but I have hefted a glass in honour of Ms. Peak! She deserves every accolade!
ReplyDeleteSuch great taste! I think zebra prints are chosen over that of tiger and giraffe prints is because of the certain class attached to it. It just looks so chic.
ReplyDeleteyou know i read that house beautiful, and i didn't notice peak's byline (maybe because it's her real name not her blog alias!). it was a fun article and i agree with you- that yellow varney rug would look great in MY living room too!
ReplyDeleteI did not make the connection either! Now I am going to go hunt downt that magazine and check it again. Congrats to Jennifer! So talented....and I love the rug too.:)
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic, I will have to check that article out again! Wow!!

Your lifestyle or taste determines what the focal point of your living area is. If you have a fireplace, you can rearrange your furniture around it. Or if you have a piano, and this is the focal point of your living area, your furniture could be set around it. When rearranging your furniture, also consider traffic in your Living Room Decoration area. It is always good to arrange furniture in off-square angles. This makes the room warmer and more casual. http://living-room-decoration.blogspot.com
