Housewerks Visit

I try to stop by Housewerks Salvage every so often and see what fun new things they have gotten in. Ben and Tracey had just returned from a buying and selling trip to Brimfield the night before and were exhausted. Tracey told me that there were a lot of Europeans and Asian buyers there because of the weak dollar.

Here are some fun things I saw on Saturday.
Hello... here are some typographer's letters and a glove mold

I love the mid-century modern look of these chairs. There are six in the set.

This little chandelier reminds me of one I shipped back from Wales. There are three of these that match - all from different sources!

These doors are stunning. I can imagine them on the front of a gorgeous old townhouse, or as the doors to an incredible dressing room/closet!

Because so many churches are closing, Housewerks has an incredible selection of pieces from old churches.

This isn't a public access place, is it?

John, it is open to the public. It's down on Bayard Street in Pigtown.

In England it always seems like people are living in these old quaint churches - I see that in 25 Houses - or whatever that magazine is called. My favorite of the day is the small chandelier - you have one of those? so so cute!

umm....I wan't to live here. Inside this store. Between this and the nonchalant "oh yeah I totallyyyy see John Waters just out and about around town somtimes...." I'm having a hard time controlling my jealousy

I love stopping by there whenever I'm in Baltimore! I went with a friend once who bought some really cool old aluminum mailbox covers from an art deco office building in downtown baltimore that had been gutted at some point that he cleaned up and hung on his wall. Really cool!!

Marnie... I've been wanting to go to Brimfield or Round Top, but their hugeness intimidates me! I'd be soooo overwhelmed!

HOUSEWERKS is one of my favorite places in Baltimore! If only I had my own place with room to decorate. But on second thought I probably save a lot because I don't.
