The Finale!

As I mentioned, I took more than 200 photographs when I was visiting M last week. There are some shots that really didn't go with any of the sections I wrote, but I like them anyway, so here they are.
This was outside the county historical society's consignment store. Lots of treasures there.

Seeing an artichoke plant is Maryland is very unusual.

A butterfly in the kitchen garden, which we chased away so it wouldn't lay eggs.

A is a very talented needlewoman and her works are scattered through the house. Another cane from the collection. I love the look on this guy's face.

M&A bought a load of orchids for a big party they had a few weeks ago, so there are stunning orchids all around the house.

We were sitting here having coffee the first morning I was there when a bald eagle flew right over us. I've seen them before on the Bay and it's great to know that they're coming back from the brink of extinction.

As I am packing to leave, Connor's hiding out from Mitzee and grabbing a quick snooze.

Thanks again, M & A!

  5. Meg - what a treat - and your hosts must have been thrilled as well that their guest had such a fine eye and appreciation for her surroundings. Thanks for sharing the images. I have to click away so Rosie does not see Connor's perch. Is the throw fur? If she sees it I'll hear nothing but how she only get to sleep on cushions.

  8. Lots of great pictures but my favorite is the artichoke. OK, Connor curled up on his chair is a pretty close second.

Next time - love the pictures and the fact that Mitzi was too tired to even get excited about my return from our (2 daughters & my) trip to Alaska - it is really fun to see someone else enjoying everything as much as we do - love the pup on the chaise!!!

  11. Alice - thanks for visiting my blog! I was sorry to have missed you all, as well. Now that we know how much Connor and Mitz love each other, we shouldn't let them be strangers.

Hope to see you soon! xoxo

  14. This is only a small part of the cane collection. Sometimes, to get one cane, you have to buy the whole lot of them at auctions!
