Lilly for Target!

It was announced this evening that Target and Lilly Pulitzer are collaborating on a collection. #lillyfortargetimageWOW! If this is anything like Target’s partnership with Liberty of London, there are going to be people camping outside Target stores waiting to snap up the goods. Well, maybe not at the Target near me, since it’s not in a great area. image

And Target better beef up their website, because a lot of people were very unhappy livid that the Target website kept crashing as they were trying to make purchases online. image

The collection, with 250 pieces including apparel, accessories and shoes for women and girls, as well as home accents, outdoor entertaining accessories, beach gear, travel essentials and more, will arrive in stores on April 19th. imageThey have already set up an Instagram account with lots of images of what’s to come. image

Nothing better on a bitter cold, snowy night, than knowing that spring’s just around the corner and we’ll all be buying our Lilly from Target!

    1. Lurid is such a great word. People should use it more.

  5. Target has, for a long time, had a certain 'je ne sais crois' that seems to eclipse others of the same ilk in terms of style. However . . . I think there are lots of us who have "Target stories" in terms of service. Some of their designer collections of late (Nate Berkus) have been nice but not worth the inflated price IMHO. Kind of like your OKL revelations.

    1. I think that they set the tone when they started with Isaac Mizrahi and all of his fun pieces for them.

  6. Made in China...with the true costs (environmental/people,etc.) identified on the price tag?

  7. The back story to the Lilly dress story is charming. If one does an internet search for vintage LP shifts one sees what was popular back then-- the items were considered chic no doubt. However the brand Lilly is "under new management" therefore it is what it is now. Is one purchasing a "way of life" or a useful fun designed product at least Vera Bradley designs have an equally charming back story. You go girl!

    1. Way of life more than anything, I am guessing. I have a shower curtain, that virtually no one sees, that's made out of yardage of LP fabric. So it's my own private statement, and I don't really need to splash her name everywhere!

  9. When Target did the John Derian line I snapped up a few things (trays) - that line did not seem to excite the masses though. Then they did Missoni and wow - it was crazy. I checked Ebay and the prices were astounding , 3-4 -5 times the cost of the items and people were bidding like mad. This was all going on as soon as the line launched! I suppose we will see the same thing with this new line. I used to really like Target and I do appreciate these collaborations, but Target's general line has declined I think - in the past 4-5 years. When they first did the Rachel Ashwell line it was gorgeous. For a few years now it's been really quite bad.
