You do the math. Seems that they’re pretty identical… I am not sure I understand what’s so special about the OKL plates, with no provenance given. You can buy these plates at any Army surplus store.
I'm constantly amazed at OKL and the extreme prices on very common items. According to their pricing criteria, I could become very wealthy unloading a few cabinets in my kitchen. ; )
That's it, I'm starting a website called One Queens Trail and I've got cotton balls (or bunny tails or whatever you want to call them) for sale at a mere $250.00 a half pound! Get 'em while they last!
I've actually seen the OKL style plates at a small town hardware store. They carried the whole line with cups, bowls etc. The plates were marked at $5.00 ea. Leave it to OKL to take something so basic and bump the price beyond belief!
The gals at OKL recently took Martyn Lawrence Bullard on a shopping trip in London to hand pick goods for sale on their web site. I am sure he didn't do this just for the fun of it... They have to pay the bills somehow!
I just returned from Maine and I found these for 2.75 from the Indian Hill Trading Post in Greenville Maine. These are great for camping but I find it irritating to listen to my guests cut steak on tin plates at dinner. It seems it's all the rage to post OKL in one's blog.

ReplyDeleteI agree. How can we unload our fabulous stuff on OKL?

BTW how is Connor? You haven't
mentioned him for a while. Hope
is well.
OKL seems to be for people who are not living in our version of reality.

Thank you for adding common sense back into our lives. I look forward to all your musings. Please keep up the good work.

ReplyDeleteAmazing. Etsy and Army Surplus win every time. I have a collection of these that I intend to use for picnics and bbqs at the farm.
