As you might have noticed, I have stopped posting on Pigtown*Design. After more than 12 years, and 2,156 posts, I felt like I was finished with the blog. When it became more of a chore than a joy, I decided that I would move on.
I am on Instagram, where I post images of all of the things that catch my attention, such as architecture, design, culture, travels and current events... all of Pigtown*Designhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13775512940294150252noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-735719884954321988.post-70286528623480820512018-11-19T12:07:00.001-05:002018-11-19T12:07:39.120-05:00Another Quilt Post! (It’s Long!)I know, you’re sick of me posting about my quilt collection, but this time, I decided to do something about it. In this post from July, I had some images of quilted coats. I started mulling the idea of making a coat from one of the quilts with condition issues, like stains or wear. I thought about it some more. The coat needed to be very simple. It needed to be simple because I’ve never made a Pigtown*Designhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13775512940294150252noreply@blogger.com21tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-735719884954321988.post-52342944437933096632018-11-16T15:45:00.001-05:002018-11-16T15:45:14.325-05:00Instagram: The Days are Whizzing By!I talked about the Pop-Up shop a few weeks ago, and it was a huge success. I really had a great time doing it, and hope to do another one next year. I’ve been busy doing a lecture, teaching a class and a few other things. But I did want to keep you posted on things that are happening here. A group of friends banded together to host the event, which was held in a recently re-built barn. The evening’s theme was Tweeds & Tartans, Tophats & Tiaras! The evening started with a ride down to the barn in a bunting-festooned Gator, with two bag-pipers leading the way. Actually, so successful that I kept it open for an extra two weeks at the request of the shopping village where I had opened. We had planned to open with a little sip & shop party, but I ended up not getting into the space until the day before I had planned to open, so that plan was scrapped. Last week was a bit of a nightmare. I thought I was going to get the keys to the Pop-UP on Monday and could start leisurely loading in my wares every evening, since the Village only allows this during “non-working” hours. But after some delays, I didn’t actually get the keys until mid-afternoon on THURSDAY! I put more than 900 miles on the car, traveled from Lyme Regis to York, attended a wedding, went to the theatre, stayed in eight places over fourteen nights, took planes, trains and automobiles, drank more in the past two weeks than I have in the past five months, saw loads of friends and family, never used my umbrella, and overall had a ball! I’ve got a lot planned for the trip, which only really jelled this past week. I am starting in London for a couple of days, staying at a great AirBnB where I stayed a few years ago.
