What’s not to love about this house? The colour’s perfect. The detailing is classic. The location, overlooking the harbour in Falmouth, England is brilliant. What do you think?
At first I thought it was perfectly symmetrical, but at second glance the right side of windows is slightly farther right than the left which I think makes it interesting. I love the color of the house and the combination of windows. Pretty door too.
OTL... I removed an unsightly lamp-post in front, but my photoshop skills are not sufficient to remove the entire fence. Would you rather have nothing or some plantings?
I think a higher brick-work wall with a good central gate and white Portland stone copings along the top. this would then be planted from the garden side and clipped close and square.
One would also need to get rid of the tarmac / metalled drive in front of the house....do you know of Todd Longstaffe-Gowan' house( http://www.tlg-landscape.co.uk/page24.htm).....having said tha, I've an inkling you may have written about him in the past?????

ReplyDeleteI am not drawn to blue for exterior colors, but can image this a safe harbour its location.
