Yabba Dabba Do?

Or Yabba Dabba Don’t? My friend Tony sent me the listing for this house in Malibu which is on the market for $2.9 million. It’s certainly one-of-a-kind!image

But it reminds me a little too much of the Flintstone’s house in Bedrock.image

It’s a one-bedroom, imagetwo bathroom house overlooking the Pacific Ocean. image

The furniture is designed to reflect the style of the architecture.image

But the views over the ocean are spectacular!image

The expanses of glass walls and the organically-shaped windows take advantage of the views surrounding the house.imageimage

The property is 22 acres and backs up to a nature preserve.image

So, do you think this house is a yabba dabba do or a yabba dabba don’t? And could you live in a house like this?

  1. Isn't this the Dick Clark house? Sure looks like it. I thought it looked a little primitive, but with only 1 bedroom, you don't have to worry about houseguests!

    1. It IS the Dick Clark house. But the listing didn't say anything about that.

  2. I would go insane in this house! I wonder what a Feng Shui expert would tell us about this place.

  3. This my dear, is the first man cave. $2.9 million for 22 acres in Malibu, is that correct?? Well living in Malibu-- really this would be a place to hang your hat. How much time would you be spending there inside without your eyes closed sleeping? LOL -- sounds like a bargain.

    1. I have a feeling that much of the 22 acres is vertical!

    1. The ceilings are too low, and it looks like it would be dark.

  6. No. A thousand times no. I'll do wild clothes WAY before a wild house.

  7. I love this place, perhaps because it reminds me of a Flintstone manse! So creative! But.....I might grow tired of it after a time and, at night, worry about being buried alive by all the "rubble"! Fun post.....thanks. Angela Muller

  9. The kitchen cabinets made me feel a little seasick. Would be fun for a getaway rental, but I wouldn't want to live there.

  11. I'd stay there for a day or two, but could never live in it. But it is fascinating. Maybe the owner should rent it out as a Bed & (make your own) Breakfast.

  12. OMG, this made me laugh SO HARD! It's an architectural disaster. Totally Flintstones -- bone in your hair, foot-pedaled car AWFUL. Seriously, it looks like a film set for a Flintstones movie, along the same vein as the Scooby Doo movie that came out a few years back. Yuck, yuck!

    1. It was owned by Dick Clark. I wonder if he produced one of the movies?

  13. My goodness, I always thought this house, in my part of the country, was a Flinstones kind of house:

    1. OK, perhaps this Wiki page will confirm my suspicions that this is definitely a Flinstones' inspired home, easily seen when driving around the Bay Area headed south on 280:
