Purple Passion

I don’t know whether you’ve seen this house in England that’s making the rounds, but someone’s got a passion for PURPLE! In Baltimore, we take our passion for purple pretty seriously, as that’s one of the team colours for the Ravens. But I think that this might just be too much, even if we do go back to the SuperBowl (doubtful this year!). Take a look!

Thank goodness for the white accents!image

The purple carpeting is climbing up the sides of the tub!image

That chair looks very uncomfortable.image

Wait… the dining room opens onto a bedroom?image

Purple carpeting in the kitchen. {Shudder}image

The funny part is that the house looks pretty normal from the outside!image

Yours for a mere £400,000!

  1. Ugh!

I'm sure that now everyone is paraphrasing Gelett Burgess: 'I never saw a purple house, I never hope to see one...'

  2. Oh dear. that just started a bit of a headache...It looks like one of those makeover results from the BBC home makeover shows from the 90's if you might recall? They might need to knock off a few grand for the repaint costs!

  3. Oh dear, (again). Were the owners on acid. There is not one redeeming feature. Is this a joke, to attract buyers?

    1. It's from a real estate listing, and I think it would repel buyers!

  4. Well, now I know what hell looks like. I have a rather strong distaste for the color and it has nothing to do with foootbal.

  5. Oh, I don't know. I rather like it - especially the carpet on the bathroom floor around the toilet and going up the side of the tub. It would make for a soft landing when I am dazed by all the purple and fall and hit my head on the tub ;-) Cathy

  6. Do you think they have some sort of color blindness where they see purple as beige?

  7. If blue is an appetite suppressant and red is an appetite stimulant purple and red is a combination of the two , therefore ,one will feel as if they have consumed a meal upon entering this house. It no doubt ,is a weight loss method psychology. Incidently, if the golden thirds of decorationg was followed or is it 60-30-10 what is that formula? Is not purple the color of royalty. I see a royal flush.
