Shed-Heads

Who knew that there enough aficionados of sheds to have their own website and competition? I am not surprised that it’s based in the UK. Here are some of the best.

  6. why r not these 21st century with solar panels and windows to allow the owner a bit of visibility in an otherwise dank environment??? how many voters have ever entered a garden shed ??? The size how practical??can one fit a lawn mower and properly organized supplies for example, the myriad of tools ( i.e., shovel, weed whacker, wheel barrow, clippers axe, etc.) and fertilizers and paraphernalia to allow the use of such things?? These sheds are preposterous.

    1. Anon... because they're garden sheds, probably used for a few hours a week. It's not like they're massive houses that suck down energy. The size is very practical if you have a small garden plot.

  7. Goodness, Anonymous at 3:12, I'm so sorry you exclude the joyfully irrational from your life. My good friend has a small (tiny, really) caravan that she can drag around to various spots in her yard. She uses it as a retreat, a room of her own, a space to do arty things. Serendipitously, its acoustics make it a fine drum. She has a regular shed in which to store her gardening equipment. I hope you find some room for the preposterously delightful. Have a whimsical day - at least every now and then.

    1. Well said, Minnie. There's the most adorable little garden shed around the corner for me, maybe 8x8, with two french doors. I think that the owner uses it as a studio.

I would LOVE to have a wee caravan in my back garden!
