En Peu de Tout

Or just a bit of everything…

You know I am crazy about the iconic Scalamandre zebra print, and I am also a bag lady – meaning I love all sorts of bags, especially tote bags. So when I saw this beach tote, I knew it was going on to the wish list!scal toteHere’s the description: Fabricated of lightweight linen canvas with a black waterproof lining and a zipper compartment, this indispensable carryall has handles of pure cotton rope trim secured with smart silver grommets. $195 at Scalamandre.

Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams are celebrating the Summer of Love! summer of love MG BWAll you have to do is “like” them on Facebook, and you’ll be entered to win $5000 worth of home furnishings. I went to their showroom at High Point in April, and it’s amazing. MG+BW is a very progressive company and I admire their philosophies.

My dear friend David, aka Man of Mode, was kind enough to send me the Jubilee issue of Tatler magazine. I love the cover.tatler

They have a hilarious app where you point your smart phone at the image and it puts the crown and sceptre onto the person in the picture. I am sure they will end up adorning Connor at some point. Be sure to check out David’s pictures of the Flotilla.

I’ve been really lax about updating my Etsy shop, but have been collecting things for it for the last few months. I am in the process of photographing everything and then editing the pictures. And then I need to upload everything onto the Etsy site. Check out the listings on the right of the blog and see if there’s anything you like.

  2. That corgi has had a brush and polish. He certainly is very cute. We are about to begin the Queens Birthday Weekend here, public holiday on Monday.

Meg, I feel like I know you after following your blog for several years. Yesterday, my daughter and I explored some of your favorite haunts in Baltimore. I gleaned them from your mentions in this blog. We went to Halcyon House Antiques, The House Downtown, Gore-Dean, and McLain & Wiesand. The circuit showed us your beautiful city! Of course, we have long loved Inner Harbor and surrounds, but now we have ventured beyond downtown. What lovely suburbs! I was especially taken by all the gorgeous private school grounds, college campuses, and parks. Thank you for introducing us to your beloved city! And thanks, too, for the heads up about Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams. Finally, your inclusion of the crowned yorkie made my day!

    1. Love junking! When I moved back to the states, i thought i'd be here for a year, and didn't want to spend tons of $$ on furnishings. So i started going to thrift shops, yard sales, etc. and filled my house in no time. You need to wander down the hill to my house and see what I'm talking about!

  6. I find myself a little confused that anyone would pay nearly $200 for a simple-style bag made of inexpensive materials that a moderately handy person could whip up on their Singer at home for about $10. I mean... if it was leather, or studded with semi-precious stones, or something, yeah. But a canvas tote? And they're sold out??? Geez, I need to get my Singer out and start making canvas totes, looks like.
