Too Much?

I found this image on the Guardian, in an article about celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee later this summer. hail to the queenIt’s just a small sample of what’s available to celebrate the Jubilee. A bit of overkill perhaps, but at least it’s all coordinated.

I’ve asked Man of Mode to see if he can scare up a copy of this magazine to send me.tatler1

I’ve hunted for it here, but can’t find it. CL 1I did, however, get the special edition of Country Life which featured Balmoral.

  1. I should think the one person finding the whole thing overkill is HMQ. All the tours, the salutes etc, and Jubilee Weekend isn't even until the beginning of June. It would be exhausting for anyone, but for an 86 year old, (and her nearly 91 year old husband)...they're made of sterner stuff!

    1. I was looking at some images from a Trooping of the Troops the other day, and neither one of them looked amused.

  2. Meg the first image is a bit much! I would take away a few pillows and the lanterns!

  3. Being the mega-Anglophile that I am, I love it all. I don't think the Union Jack furniture is up my alley but I would pull out the other stuff for a party/jubilee.

    1. I like the faded Union Jack rug, and I do want some of the pennants for my porch.

  4. Hi Meg, I'm not an anglophile (being Irish) but I love that photo. What a great flat--just look at the fireplace surround and that window!! I think that Jones and the Corgi would be best buds. Have a great week!! Have you thought about getting Connor a buddy? Maybe a kitten? Mary

    1. I love the light in the flat. Nice soft diffuse light.

Have thought a little about a companion for Connor, but don't want a puppy.

  5. I was afraid I was a little over the top with the three pennant, union flag banner I made for my porch! Apparently not. ~ Maureen

  6. Have a client in London, now at her home there. I won't go over until after the Summer Olympics. FYI- The Union Jack rug(right side of picture) is from The Rug Co. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
