Blizz-icane!

Yes, I know you’re sick of me posting about snow, it’s really a major event here. According to the National Weather Service, the winds hit Category I Hurricane force today during our blizzard. Additionally, the barometer readings were extremely low, like they are during hurricanes.02-10-10 017As you might have noticed, I am very interested in weather. I was on my college sailing team, and one of my courses was, and don’t laugh too hard, “Wind & Weather for the Serious Yachtsman”. It was basically a meteorology class and I found it fascinating.

Totals from the last 24 hours of snow are about 18-20 inches, and on top of the nearly 30 we had over the weekend, none of us are sure we can take any more of this! Nothing is open on Thursday, and there’s basically no hope of getting out of Pigtown until the weekend. All in all, we’ve had 72 inches of snow since December, which is about 10 times what we usually get!

I made a little video earlier today and once I finish editing it and upload it, I will link it here.

Also, Flip is going to send over some pictures of the tile on the wall of her gorgeous bathroom, as well as some of the sink.

  1. I LOVE weather. Everyone who has ever lived with me, has always giving me trouble for having the Weather Channel on in the background when I'm working, folding laundry whatever. But I find it fascinating and calming all at once.

Meg, I'm so sorry you guys are getting so DUMPED on. Stay warm, can't wait to see the video.

  3. Good luck getting through your serious weather! Looks like Canada...

Oddly, we are having a mild winter here with little snow and things hovering above and below zero lately. At least we have snow tires in the event that we do get snow!

Be careful out there! And try to enjoy - looks like the dog is having a blast!!

  4. Wow, Baltimore beat DC in the snow totals. Bet you are getting lots of sewing practice. Really bored here, I painted walls and rehung pictures. BTW, I was on the college sailing team too!

  10. Meg, I tell you after you are through sewing take out anything that can make you feel better, tea, coffee, booze, whatever, it gets pretty depressing I know. I am so wanting Spring, flowers, gardens and sitting on my beautiful four seasons, concrete (it weighs a ton) and yes I had it shipped from CA to NY! My husband about died when he saw they were unloading it. lol Anyway, back to you and Conner, do things that normally you would not have time to do. Try to make this a huge flipping snow time.

  13. Spring will come! I promise! Does Connor enjoy the snow? Abbey loves it - but Manhattan has not gotten nearly the snow you have this year...yesterday's storm...only about 5" in my neighborhood by the UN.
